Summer's end

I can always tell when the summer is winding down by the number of sessions I have with kiddos coming in before schools starts! It's still been too hot (and sometimes wet!) most days for outside sessions so most of my recents have been in the studio. I been having a lot of fun with these recent sessions. I got to do a recent bride (photos not shown--I don't want to let her fiance' see that beautiful dress before the big day) which is something I don't do too much of anymore. I forgot how much fun bridal sessions can be! The beautiful little dark haired girl (also pictured with her beautiful mother, aunt and grandmother) was a new client. She and her mother live out of town and were here visitng family. I was glad to get the chance to photograph them while there were here! The cute baby boy (corbin, also pictured in the cowboy hat) came for his 6 month pictures. I had the pleasure of photographing him as a newborn and at 3 months as well. This time I got to photograph the whole georgeous family! The handsome young man you see is a senior this coming year and I did his brother's senior pics a couple of years ago. He had an image in mind that he wanted to create (the flames in the hands) so after I put that image together I got busy finding other uses for the flames in some of his other pics. I love when seniors tell me their great ideas. I'm sure some of you will recognize the beautiful brother and sister (the older set) from my website. Although the last time I photographed that beautiful girl her hair was down to her waist!!! She looks so grown up with her new hair cut. That brother of hers is just precious as well and has quite the personality! I always love the images that their mom chooses. She loves the images where they are just goofing off and being themselves. The sweet little baseball player is the newest addition to a very sweet and beautiful family I've been photographing since his sister was a baby. The image of him with his stunning mother is one of my favorites from this session. He looks sooo much like his big sister. The other brother and sister (teal/white outfits) were a lot of fun to photograph. Although that sweet baby girl woke up early and was quite tired by the time we were shooting she still gave us some adorable smiles and her big brother had me laughing the whole time with his antics. I just love his hair and wish I had just an ounce of his energy! I wrote a few months ago about a maternity session that I did and didn't show any images because I didn't have permission, so this weekend when I did images of their new baby girl this beautiful mother told me that I could share any of her images so I am including a collage of the pics that I did a of her beautiful family back in March. The sweet baby girl you see (close up with pink bow, and green/purple/and pink polka dotted outfit) is their beautiful new baby. This is number 4 for this beautiful mom and teacher and she didn't even have the decency to look tired much less like she just had a baby a couple of months ago! Miss Annastyn has some awsome big sibblings (and dad's pretty great too!) so she's one lucky little lady. The other baby girl (sitting up and laying on her back in teal/green dress) is actually cousins with the cute little guy (beach scene and b&W image). Both of these little ones have really awsome families who are really fun to work with. This adorable little guy was one of the easiest two year olds I've ever photographed and he's got the greatest little personality to boot. Although his sweet cousin was in a pretty somber mood the day we did pics, she gave us some really wonderful smiles. The image pictured however turned out to be one of my favorites despite the lack of smile!

Some more Recent Sessions!

Well the heat is keeping me indoors for the most part, but we've been sneaking outside to take a few pics right around my house for a few sessions and I did get out just last night to photograph two precious little girls at the rose garden. Here's a few of my favorites from the last couple of weeks!

Ok, Ok, I know I should do this more often

But seriously, its so hard to find time! I knew when I started this blog that I'd struggle to find time to update, but I didn't think I'd go weeks in between posts. Anyhow, here are some images from some recent sessions. I've taken a few weekends off for my daughters birthday and a little mini vacation so I don't have as many to post as usual. Also you'll see the newest member of our family. Little Sadie, A cocker spaniel puppy is the cutest, funniest little thing. She's actually been in a few pictures (puppies make great bribes for toddlers!) Dont worry though, no animals were harmed in the making of photos! Sadie also has a sister and two brothers currently available so if you are interested give me a call or email and I'll send contact info! The young man and woman in the image by the lake is my nephew and his new bride Bethani. I don't "do" weddings but I promised long ago if he'd just marry this precious girl that I'd be happy to photograph his wedding. It was a 40's theme (thus the red dress and black veil) and fit their spunky personalities perfectly. I also did a maternity shoot for one of my long time clients and created some of my all time favorite maternity images ever. I haven't asked permission to share their images yet, so you'll just have to wait for that one, but believe me, she is just a natural beauty and pregnancy looks beautiful on her! The little man you see is a new client and was just as cute as can be. I just love little boys and their spunky personalities. The two precious little strawberry blonds you see are sisters who I have photographed several times now. They are so incredibly energetic and have the cutest personalities not to mention they are just beautiful! The baby boy is also a new client and what a precious little one he is! He wasnt really in the mood for pictures, but still gave us some precious expressions. He loved miss sadie too. He also got to attack a birthday cake too!

Recent Sessions

Well I can tell it is officially spring (although it feels like summer!!!) by the amount of outdoor sessions I have been scheduling. Keaton is the handsome senior boy you see above. I traveled to brownsboro 2 years ago to take his brothers senior photos and returned a couple of weeks ago for Keaton's pics. Keaton is somewhat famous in Brownsboro for his skills on the pitcher's mound and I could see why, watching him throw the ball across home plate to deliberately hit a pole on the other side so that the ball would come right back to him. I'm not much of a sports fan, but I was definately impressed. I also got to take pics of him with his two older brothers. You gotta envy the mom who has three nearly grown boys who will get up on a saturday morning to take pictures (not sure if they were given a choice though ha ha!). Even the dogs were willing to cooperate for their pics!

Price is the sweet adorable little brother of Peyton who has always been posted all over my website. Their mom is one of the sweetest and best clients I've ever had. Not to mention she is on of my best referers too! It is no wonder her two boys are just wonderful, they have wonderful parents to take after. Price looks a lot like his brother but has many expressions that are clearly his own. The closeup above however reminded me more of Peyton than any other we took that day. Now I'm just waiting to see if he show up to his one year session with the famous "Peyton frown" or not!

I was so excited to meet sweet little william for the first time. I met his sister right before her first birthday and what a little angel she is! Abigail is just the same age that my oldest was when we brought home our second baby and I certainly don't remember my daughter adapting as well as she has. It is evident that Abigail is not the least bit jealous and dearly loves that sweet baby brother of hers. As if Abigail hadn't already won my heart with just her sweet personality, she really warmed up to me during this session and even spent part of the time in my lap while she and I took pics of her brother. I offered to just keep her forever, but her sweet parents didn't seem willing to give her up! William decided to follow in his sisters footsteps by staying awake for his entire newborn session (I didn't know abigail then, but I've heard stories!). While I typically like for my newborns to sleep, he already had such expressive eyes that I was glad to capture them. He even looked straight at me for some of his pics which is pretty rare for a 2 weeker!

Congratulations Little Blessings winners!

Sorry, I wanted to post this Sunday, but I had a little trouble tracking down a couple of the winners, and wanted to notify them first. Congratulations to grand prize winner Meredith, second place winner, Natalie, and Third place winner Aiden. I wish I could make all of the wonderful nominees winners, but unfortunately I can't. I do want to thank all of the people who nominated the children for my contest. It was truely a blessing to read the stories that were sent in.

A few recent favorites

I've had several sessions over the last couple of weeks. Some new clients and some returning ones, but all great kiddos! Emily is one of my 2008 seniors. Besides being a beautiful young lady, she had a wonderful personality and I know she has a bright and promising future ahead! Sweet little Emma came for her 3 month photos and while I typically find that a challenging age because of their inablitly to support themselves, she was just a delight! All smiles from the time she arrived, and never a fuss! Although I don't typically photograph only adults, I was honored to photograph my Pastor and his wife for their 50th wedding anniversary! Can you imagine 50 years??? What a sweet and loving couple they are. Miss Ella came for her 3 month photos (just a couple of weeks late, but still oh so tiny) and still has a head full of beautiful dark brown hair. I had the honor of photographing her sweet parents just before she was born and also did her newborn pics and she is just a sweet beautiful little girl. I love seeing these little ones grow and change! I did an emergency session for Miss Riley as she lives out of town and happened to be staying nearby for the weekend just before her 3rd birthday. I was so glad that I was able to fit them in! Some of you will recognize her from my splash page! Miss Katie and her sweet brother Even came to me around a year ago and were not too interested in being photographed. We got some wonderful images, but they sure made us work for them. What a difference a year made. They were the sweetest and most cooperative little ones and we got tons of great pics! It helps too that they are both just adorable!!! I've been photographing Miss Lilyana for some time now and she is just a delight every time. She's a little harder to catch these days but that is just how it is with toddlers. Isn't she beautiful! Little Addison put up with me for quite some time outdoors and warm sticky weather and never complained once. I just fell in love with this beautiful little girl who was willing to do anything we asked as long as we let her slip on her tiny silver sandles in between shoots. What a doll!
